Salesforce.com is the enterprise company of “cloud computing” which is distributed business software on a subscription basis. Subscription basis means user/client/company should purchase license and use the salesforce online also customized according to the requirement.

Salesforce.com hosts the applications offsite. It is best known for its Customer Relationship Management (CRM) products and PRM (Partner login), through acquisition, has expanded into the “social enterprise arena”. There are different types of license version like Enterprise/Unlimited etc. which is based on number of user and supportive functionality.

Cloud computing is computation, software, data access, and storage services that do not require end-user knowledge of the physical location and configuration of the system that delivers the services means user don’t know about the location of servers.
Parallels to this concept can be drawn with the electricity grid where end-users consume power resources without any necessary understanding of the component devices in the grid required to provide the service and based on internet high-performance servers.
Cloud computing is the natural development of the extensive adoption of virtualization, service-oriented architecture (SOA), autonomic and utility computing. Details are abstracted from end-users, who no longer have a need for expertise in, or control over, the technology infrastructure “in the cloud” that supports them as given below:
