The Future of SAP HANA
Category: General, SAP HANA Posted:Jul 27, 2016 By: Alvera AntoIn this age of digitization, it became important and necessary for SAP, the premium ERP software to come up with the next generation business suite, and that is SAP HANA. In 2011, HANA (High performance Analytics Appliance) was available as in-memory computing database. The HANA database was used to power SAP BW to make analytical real-time reporting and reduce latency in the next year. In 2013, SAP HANA cloud services were introduced to power the SAP Business Suite.
The S/4 HANA was released towards the end of 2015 and provided extremely user friendly User Experience (UX), simplified data models and a variety of cloud deployment options such as Public Cloud, On-Premise or Hybrid Cloud.
SAP has simplified their data structures with most of the database tables in columnar store and elimination of row store. This has resulted in dramatic increase in performance and faster results when running reports. SAP Fiori UX is the new user experience of SAP to business users for all lines of business across devices and deployments. The design is based on role-based, responsive, simple, coherent and delightful. The SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Platform is the solution for the Internet of Things (IoT) and provides the data driven intelligence business where the devices or machines will be connected by sensors. SAP S/4 HANA is very easy to adopt with quicker implementation cycles.
As we are entering into the middle of the year 2016, predictions for S/4 HANA is very clear – more HANA, more analytics. The Cloud for Analytics is a combo of Business Intelligence (BI), planning, budgeting, and predictive analytics. S/4 HANA is expected to bring more project systems, quality management, and sales and distribution functionality. The Hybris tools for the “Simplified Front Office” will usually become available including Hybris Profile and Hybris Customer Experience. The Cloud for Analytics in 2016 is predicted to have the power of broadened predictive analytics capabilities, scaled out modelling and what/if analysis for planning.
