Work smart not hard to accomplish more
Category: General Posted:Jun 03, 2015 By: Alvera AntoThe key to accomplish more is not hard work but smart work:
When we say this we appear to be manipulative, but to clarify the word “SMART” has a deeper meaning.
S is for STRESS LESS
Monotonously working can get us stressed and make our life boring. This high level of stress takes a toll on our health.
It is not the hours of work that matter but the quality of work does matter the most.
M is for MANAGING RESOURCES effectively
Prioritizing is the key to effective time management. One task at a time is more important than working on multiple tasks hastily. Commitments must be made on priority basis.
A is for AVOID
One must learn to say no. Be realistic in what you can commit and achieve the same. Commit only for those tasks for which you have time. Understand your levels of multitasking.
R is for RESTING
Charles Darwin a genius took a mental break from tasks by taking long walks for 16 km a day. One must try to replenish and be energetic for the tasks and work.
T is for TEAM
Distributing work helps to do a task in a better way. One must try to involve the team to get a work accomplished. Power naps help to improve the productivity and helps in wellbeing. Power naps have been taken by geniuses like Leonardo da Vinci, Napoleon, Edison and Winston Churchill believed in napping.
To summarize working smart is desired as compared to working hard. Smart work is encouraged in organizations to generate creative ideas.
So in this competitive age, managers hire smart workers. In short working smart is not being manipulative, but requires managing daily task and being happy.
So be happy in whatever you are currently working and treat yourself for achievements that are big or small occasionally.
